BE SURE TO WATCH IN HD. I just wanted to create a fun, loving, and creative movie about Houston and I was inspired by the contest to make it.

This is a compilation of "day" shots that I've collected along the way, mostly from 2012, while collaborating with friends or working with some local organizations to help promote what they do for our city. I composed the music in the video about 6 years ago.

Everyday around 6pm as rush hour traffic slowly rolls through the intersection of Montrose & Allen Parkway, a mysterious dancing rollerblader appears. Film school student, Juan Carlos of Spain says he's been dancing at this same intersection for 15 years. Exercise and entertaining himself is what got him started but he's quickly realized that his rolling dance moves have been uplifting for Houston drivers. He says he carries about 1,000 songs with him, everything from cumbia to salsa, disco and sometimes rap.

I moved to Houston from New Jersey in 1984 to work at the NASA-Johnson Space Center. I supported the space shuttle and space station programs. I live near the rockets and longhorn cattle. I love the wildflowers and all things space!

Sadly, this is Houston in too many communities to count. Unwanted pets and unwanted litters of puppies are found everyday. They are left to fend for themselves in the most difficult of circumstances. Please share the word to spay and neuter pets. This is one step to creating a more enjoyable lifestyle for ALL Houstonians.

There are over 2 million people that make up the city of Houston. With a population so diverse and colorful, the music scene is no different. People from all over the globe travel here, influencing and shaping the core of the music scene. With the variety that Houston offers, it’s easy for an artist to find their crowd, and become woven into the culture of the city. Houston artists play music for the love of it. They form long lines outside local venues on open mic nights, all eager to perform for one another and collaborate. Houston's "Oil City" identity often overshadows its one of a kind musical persona. There are a lot of talented people here who have that southern, humble generosity that you don't find in the rest of the US. People here have a different mindset, and that should be amplified to the rest of the country.

Timelapse sequences shot in various locations around the Houston area. I started this project to prove people wrong who say that Houston is an "ugly" city.

I set up a Canon A560 camera with CHDK open source software that allows it to take time-lapse photos and knit them together to make this video.

Houston isn't only a city, it's a state of mind. Metro rail stations, downtown streets, and concert footage shot at various clubs in Houston are prominently featured on the Brother's Grymn single, "Get Worked." Our band blends genres with ease to create a new sound. Houston has the exact same melting pot philosophy. All video and music rights and credits belong to Brothers Grymn.
